Ready for the next challenges: the new GGP Board of Directors looks trustfully into the future
The appointment of the new Board of Directors represents the final step of the first phase of the new GGP era. Now, GGP is able to be totally focused on the new challenges and on implementing the new business plan, which schedules the development of important new products already starting from 2011.
“We are confident that the new Board of Directors will further strengthen our ambitious plans. At this moment, our main objective is to please and satisfy our customers and to gain new market shares and markets – stated Georg Metz, GGP CEO – Through our experience and our innovative skills, we are developing already, from the 2011 season, a products range which will strengthen our offer of well known Stiga, Castelgarden, Mountfield and Alpina brands in all the countries and of our important business areas as OEM and Private Label products”, Georg Metz summed up.
Mr. Stefano Meloni has been appointed as new Chairman. Mr. Meloni has a significant previous experience in prominent and international roles in important Italian Groups, as Montedison and Ferrero.
Mr. Meloni stated: “I accepted this new role with enthusiasm. My commitment will be to build a strong governance for the Group and to allow the management to take the most important decisions in order to reach our mid and long term targets. We aim to change a Group which is an “unicum” in Italy, as financial creditors directly entered the Group property, into a public company with a wide shareholder base”.
The members of the new Board of Directors beside Mr. Meloni are Mr. Georg Metz (GGP CEO), Mr. Eugenio Berenga, Mr. Fabio Sangiovanni, Mr. Carlo Frau and Mr. Roberto Lucernoni (GGP CFO). Thanks to the proven experience of its members, the Board will ensure GGP future growth and the implementation of the mid and long term plans.
